Why We’re Making Big Changes at The Growth Manager This Financial Year (And Why They’re All Designed to Help You Grow)

Sometimes the best way to grow isn’t by doing more. It’s by becoming more intentional.

Every Great Business Should Evolve

One of the things I encourage every client to do at the beginning of a new financial year is to ask a simple question:
“If I were building my business from scratch today, would I do it the same way?”
It is a powerful question because it forces you to stop operating on autopilot.
Instead of simply continuing with what you’ve always done, it encourages you to reflect.
  1. What’s working?
  2. What’s no longer serving you?
  3. Where are you creating the greatest impact?
  4. Where is your time being spent?
  5. And perhaps most importantly…If your capacity stayed exactly the same next year, where would you choose to invest it?
This year, I asked myself those exact questions.
After reflecting on one of the most challenging financial years I’ve experienced, I realised something important.
The Growth Manager doesn’t need to do more.
It needs to become even more intentional.
That means making some exciting changes.
Some difficult decisions.
And creating an even greater impact for the incredible business owners we have the privilege of supporting every day.
Today, I wanted to take you behind the scenes and share what that looks like.

Why We’re Making These Changes

If you’ve followed my journey for a while, you’ll know that since sustaining a brain injury and developing chronic pain in 2022, my business has looked a little different to most.
I don’t have unlimited capacity. I work approximately 15 hours each week across two businesses. That means every hour matters.
Every project.
Every client.
Every speaking engagement.
Every resource.
Every piece of content.
Everything has to be intentional.
While many businesses solve growth challenges by adding more, I’ve had to learn how to grow by refining more.
Interestingly, that’s exactly what I teach my clients.
Business growth isn’t about filling your calendar.
It’s about making deliberate decisions that create the biggest possible impact.
As I reviewed the past financial year, it became obvious that some areas of The Growth Manager were creating incredible value, while others, although well-intentioned, were stretching my limited capacity too thin.
So instead of trying to keep everything exactly the same, I’ve chosen to redesign parts of the business.
Not because anything was wrong. But because I believe it can be better.

Our Biggest Focus This Financial Year

Every decision we’ve made comes back to one guiding question: “Will this allow us to create a greater impact?”
If the answer is yes, we lean in.
If the answer is no, we rethink it.
This year, our focus centres around three key priorities.

1. Investing More Time in Our Growth Community

One thing has become incredibly clear over the last few years. The conversations happening in our Growth Community are among the most valuable work we do.
Business owners aren’t just looking for information.
They’re looking for a connection.
They want somewhere they can ask questions without judgement.
Share wins.
Navigate challenges.
Celebrate milestones.
Learn alongside other entrepreneurs who understand the journey.
That’s exactly why we’ll be investing much more time inside our Growth Community Facebook Group and our monthly Growth Newsletter.
Rather than trying to be everywhere, we’re choosing to spend more time where meaningful conversations actually happen.
If you’re not already part of the community, this is the year to join us.

2. Spending More Time Supporting Our Clients

Our mentoring clients are, and always will be, our highest priority.
When someone chooses to invest in working with The Growth Manager, they deserve our absolute best.
That means our time, focus, energy, and strategic thinking.
This year, you’ll see an even stronger focus on:
  • Business Development Mentoring
  • Growth Review Sessions
  • Implementation support
  • Strategic planning
  • Accountability
  • Sustainable business growth
Helping business owners create businesses that genuinely fit their lives remains the heart of everything we do.
And we’re excited to spend even more time doing exactly that.

3. Continuing to Give Back

Although we’re making changes to how we manage our time, one thing isn’t changing.
Our commitment to giving back.
Supporting small businesses has never just been a service we’ve offered.
It’s part of who we are.
This year, I’ll continue volunteering with programs including:
  • Mentoring for Growth
  • Inspiring Rare Birds
  • University mentoring programs
  • Industry judging panels
  • Community speaking opportunities
These opportunities allow us to support entrepreneurs who may not yet be ready to work with us while also contributing to Australia’s broader small business ecosystem.
Giving back has always been one of our core values.
That will never change.

Changes You’ll Notice

Now, let’s talk about the practical changes you’ll begin to see over the coming months.

Ask Us Anything Is Moving

Our weekly Ask Us Anything sessions aren’t disappearing. They’re moving.
Rather than answering questions publicly on social media, we’ll now host them exclusively in our Growth Community Facebook Group.
Why?
Because the conversations become richer.
Members learn from each other’s questions.
Discussions continue well beyond a single answer.
Community grows.
If you love these sessions, make sure you’ve joined the group so you don’t miss out.

Thursday Affirmations Are Evolving

Our weekly Thursday Affirmations have become something many of you genuinely look forward to.
Rather than ending them completely, we’re giving them a new home.
They’ll now become Monthly Growth Affirmations delivered exclusively through our Growth Newsletter.
This allows us to create more thoughtful, more meaningful content rather than rushing to produce something every week.
Sometimes less really is more.

You’ll See Less Social Media Content

Yes…We’re intentionally publishing less.
That might sound unusual coming from a business mentor.
But here’s why.
We don’t want to create content simply because the algorithm expects us to.
We want to create content because it genuinely helps people.
This year you’ll notice:
  • Less content
  • Better quality
  • More strategy
  • Greater value
  • More meaningful conversations
Instead of chasing visibility, we’re focusing on creating lasting impact.
Quality has always beaten quantity.
This year we’re leaning into that philosophy even more.

Our Free Strategy Sessions Are Changing

This has probably been the hardest decision we’ve made.
For years, we’ve absolutely loved offering complimentary 30-minute strategy sessions. They’ve introduced us to incredible business owners and allowed us to support hundreds of entrepreneurs.
But after reviewing how we spend our limited capacity, we realised something.
Every free session reduced the time available for our existing clients and community members. That wasn’t sustainable.
So yes…The complimentary strategy session will be changing.
Don’t worry.
The session itself isn’t disappearing.
In fact, it’s getting significantly better.
Our new paid strategy session will include:
  • More preparation
  • More strategic depth
  • Higher-value resources
  • Better follow-up
  • Greater implementation support
You’ll receive more value than ever before. Stay tuned because we’ll be announcing this very soon.

A Brand-New Free Tool Is Coming

This is one of the projects I’m most excited about.
Behind the scenes, we’ve been quietly developing something designed to support significantly more business owners than one-on-one strategy sessions ever could.
I can’t reveal too much just yet, but I can promise this.
It’s practical. It’s strategic. And it’s designed to make a genuine difference.
Keep an eye out.
This announcement isn’t far away.

Our Free Growth Hacks Are Getting a Major Upgrade

We’ve listened to your feedback.
Our free Growth Hack resources have helped thousands of business owners.
Now it’s time to make them even better.
Every guide is being reviewed.
Updated.
Expanded.
Refined.
And if you’ve downloaded one before…
Good news.
You’ll automatically receive the upgraded version.
No need to purchase it again.

Every Growth Guide Is Being Refined

Our Growth Guide Templates are some of our most popular resources.
But we know they can be even stronger.
This year we’re reviewing every single template.
Making them:
  • Easier to implement
  • More practical
  • Simpler to follow
  • Better designed
  • More action-focused
Because great resources shouldn’t just teach.
They should help you implement.
Again, existing customers will receive these upgrades automatically.

Ongoing Email Support Is Changing

This has also been a difficult decision. I genuinely love hearing from business owners.
Answering questions.
Providing encouragement.
Helping where I can.
But the reality is every email takes time, and that time comes from somewhere.
This year, we’ll be concluding ongoing complimentary email support for non-paying clients.
Instead, we’ll soon introduce a paid email and chat support option.
This allows us to continue helping business owners while protecting the time our mentoring clients have invested.
It’s a more sustainable model for everyone.

Mentoring Is Becoming an Even Bigger Focus

If there is one thing I’m excited about this year…It’s this.
Mentoring.
One-on-one mentoring has always been the heart of The Growth Manager.
And this year we’ll be doing even more of it.
We’re also developing something I’ve wanted to create for years.
An on-demand learning experience that allows business owners to work through our proven frameworks at their own pace.
Whether you’re ready for personalised mentoring or prefer to learn independently, there will soon be an option that suits you.
Watch this space. It’s a big one.

Our Goals for the New Financial Year

Last financial year, our primary goal was simple.
Increase profitability.
I’m incredibly proud to say we achieved that goal.
This financial year, our focus shifts.
We want to:

  • Maintain healthy profit margins.
  • Deliver even greater value.
  • Strengthen our Growth Community.
  • Expand mentoring opportunities.
  • Continue giving back.
  • Build better systems.
  • Create more purposeful impact.
Not through hustle. Not through working longer hours. But through smarter decisions.
The same principles we teach our clients every day.
